Hello all! I’ve just joined, having bought a fantastic 2014 F10 530d a couple of weeks ago! I’ve had many BMWs over the years, mainly 5 and 7 series, but this new one is such a wonderful balance between comfort, performance, style and economy, I’m delighted!
Hi there VDNA. It appears to me that with your first post on our forum you are attempting to sell us something. First off that is not in the spirit of BMWLand where we try to help each other - by freely sharing info and our knowledge / experience. But, I followed the link in your post and put in my VIN - it didn't work. I then noticed the line about making purchases. VIN numbers can be decoded for free in many places. So - I'm afraid it's negative feedback from me. If you really want to sell anything on here you need to be a site-supporter - but that's for private individuals. As a business - which you appear to be - you would need to become a site-sponsor - for that I suggest you contact the site organiser @The CO As it is I am now considering deleting your post as it gives all indications of being SPAM
Very well said More discouraging is the fact the post arrives in one’s inbox! I’m all for open friendly talk and greetings, fully accept different viewpoints, though did find yesterdays post suspicious and never braved opening the link for fear of phishing, had it not been for poor internet I would have posted a warning ⛔️
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to respond and also entering your VIN on my site. I appreciate your feedback, good or bad, this is exactly what I was looking for to begin with. There are a number of points you have made that I would like to respond to; It appears to me that with your first post on our forum you are attempting to sell us something. – This VIN decoder has been assembled as a by product of my core business. The opening of this data as a VIN decoder is because I realise the benefit to everyone. Clearly accurate data has value, the majority of fields are free, the hidden fields are the specific technical fields, e.g. WD93, S65B40A, GS7D 36SG, as BMW enthusiasts you will know exactly what these codes are but this is not freely available or common knowledge anywhere. On the contrary vehicle data standards particularly in the UK are appallingly bad. As BMW enthusiasts you are much better served than most with sites such as realOEM for example, spare a thought for your “Renault” brothers and sisters who will be seeing correct data for the first time! But, I followed the link in your post and put in my VIN - it didn't work. - Yes, you are quite correct, the production code of 7 within your VIN is not currently within my decode data (it will be within the next 24 hours!) So - I'm afraid it's negative feedback from me. If you really want to sell anything on here you need to be a site-supporter - but that's for private individuals. As a business - which you appear to be - you would need to become a site-sponsor - for that I suggest you contact the site organiser @The CO – Not at all, all feedback is good. I would like people to purchase the extended data from me, of course, however any income received from the VIN decoder is only anticipated to cover the hosting and incidental costs that any website host will be familiar with. As stated above, the VIN decode is NOT my business, only a by product of it. Additionally to adding this post to the forum I also contacted The CO directly for him to post where he sees fit. As it is I am now considering deleting your post as it gives all indications of being SPAM – I hope from my open and comprehensive response, you may reconsider your categorisation of this as “SPAM” !?!? Kind regards, VDNA
