I got asked this yesterday. Despite my initial doubts, the question was genuine.

Is that an electric car? Naturally, I told them that it is.

It's like snow chains on undriven wheels. We're so full of nerd knowledge that we forget how uninterested most people are about cars.

Did you also tell them that the loud exhaust note was just a safety feature to warn cyclists and pedestrians?

I don't know what they were thinking. But of the X6M is an EV, I suppose anything is possible!

Maybe it shouldn't, but it still pulls me up short when normal people make me realise just how nerdy I am.

How long is that lead? Just curious as to how far you could go before it runs out.

I doubt the lead would stretch to the bottom of the drive. It can't be any longer because it might get tangled with the petrol tanker that needs to follow me.

I’m going to have to photo it one day!
I have similar lead that I tuck in the boot cubby hole, pull out and run through the boot
Countless times I’ve abused the Ev parking bays and run the wire to and hook on the charge points
Social irresponsible I fully appreciate & acknowledge, though nomoreso than those that see fit to initiate car park dings
Of course I only do this when the family parking bays are full!

People who enquire usually get a straight "yes". As Murray says, just tell 'em what they want to hear.

It's a 2.0d, it's an EV, it's the M Sport version of the X3, it does 50mpg. I only drive it once a month when I have saved up enough to put petrol in it. And so on......

You naughty, naughty boy Sean. Wanna buy a Blue Badge?

(The bit about the Blue Badge was a joke).

    (No, honestly, it was).

    (Really).

    The sad thing is,
I have one for the MiL, though only take it out when she’s in the car, as explaining that one is simply not worth it!

It's better than one of the two alternatives.

I think all the alternatives are good
Far better than a showdown with dollydimplethrowthedooropen bimbo/twat

Though admittedly, the cold snap and lack of use is taken it’s toll on battery fortunately the ctek tells you when it’s kaput! (I believe as long as it goes onto bulk conditioning all is good)

I couldn't have put it better, although I might have put more of it in English.
