Hello! Nice to see the site is refreshed and working really quickly! I was a member on the old one, I'm not sure what happened but I hope everyone and everything is OK. Since I was a member I didn't actually own a BMW, however, now I do! I have an E39 530i Sport with a decent list of options from factory, M Para's, Nav with TV and Phone, Sunroof, Electric Heated Memory Seats, Motorised Steering Column, Privacy Glass, Shadow Trim, M Sport II Suspension. It needs a few jobs doing but I am on it, having previously owned an E39 and as I like to research things I am a little OCD and things need to be right. This isn't perfect by any means but I do hope to spend a lot of time on it and get it up to scratch. Most pressing things currently is CCV and Thermostat. Already done a top hose and camshaft sensor (genuine parts) and I hope to try and use Genuine parts wherever possible. Just before next summer, a new water pump will be on the cards just as maintenance, we all know the cooling systems on these need a good refresh every now and then. Before the previous owner it had a very detailed service history, all receipts and it even came with all its Tax Discs from new until they were phased out. I bought it after it just having new discs and pads and a new radiator. I know due to the mileage this won't be worth a load of money but I do hope with them now being modern classic/retro status, one in decent condition mechanically and physically can keep it's value pretty well. I'm a member on Detailing World so I do like to keep it very shiny too and if you're a member too, say Hi! Couple of Arty Pics and one of the interior. The 2 aspects from the previous owner I don't like is the rear muffler delete and the alloy colour scheme as seen here, far too 'Gangster/Hood' for me. I am hoping to do a home refurb to get them silver until summer when again hoping a full refurb back to Diamond Cut OEM. I have a genuine back box to get put back on, had it a while just not got round to getting it welded on. Hope to speak to you all around the forum. Cheeers
Welcome , Looks like a well looked after car. I agree the wheels don't suit it, at least not in that colour scheme. Have you thought about a set of turbines?
Thank you, No, I had turbines on my previous SE E39. These M Parallel Style 37s were an option when new and came with the car from the factory and when they look like they should, I think they look really smart over the standard 'sport' alloys.
Welcome [back] aboard. I've been following your posts about the e39 over on DW - keep up the good work!.
What a great looking motor, well photographed. The E39 is a classic shape and of course that is a great engine Douglas
Welcome back, lovely car. I miss my e39’s and think they are ageing very gracefully. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
