Sounds to me like the comfort access fault is causing your problems rather than a battery fault. The battery warning doesn't necessarily mean the battery is flat, just that the car is detecting too high a drain so has shut down consumers to try and stop it. it could be that something like a faulty door handle is preventing the car sleeping correctly or frequently waking it up from a sleep state.

That is my view after having stable voltage and the comfort access still faulting exactly the same. It is quite a fast battery drain, as if something is open circuit all the time. My garage have suggested it could possibly be water ingress into door electronics.

If it is the battery, then that falls outside the warranty, hopefully should get a response tomorrow on what the problem is.

    Quick update.

Identified the fault as the rear driver's side door handle electronics. They have disabled comfort access and I'm having the car back, as there is a long back order on getting the coloured handle replacement. BMW say it could be up to 4-weeks, I've opted to have the car back rather than stay in a hire car until the part arrives.

I've got a long trip ahead, much more suited to the 535i than a Golf. I've have to slum it with central locking.:D

Glad you know what it is, Peter. And a good job you didn't listen to me and buy a new battery! ;)

Exactly as you suspected Peter as you suggested that in one of your posts on this. How the heck do they diagnose these things, amazing!!
