    I hope someone can help.
My 2003 M3 has an ultra sensitive wheel speed sensor lasts for approx 2 weeks then comes on when 1 tyre looses approx 1/2 psi. But this is not my problem which is that just prior to the warning light coming on, a vibration appears like a buzzing sensation I think from the front end as I seem to feel it through the steering. It’s quite alarming. I have had the car checked for fault logs but nothing comes up. The vibration goes away after around 1/2 mile or if I stop.

I then check the tyre pressures but no problem. Reset the tyre pressure sensor and the car drives faultlessly until the warning light comes on again then the vibration returns!

Has anyone had a similar problem with any pointers to the cause of the problem?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

When you get the vibration and buzzing do you get the traction control light flashing on?
Can you feel it through the brake pedal as if the abs is cutting in?
Tyre warning and abs/traction control all use wheel speed so a sensor issue could mess around with both systems.
Have the wheel speed sensors and pick up wheels been visually checked. Would be good to get the wheel speeds read out real time while the fault is occurring.

No traction control light does not flash on and I can’t feel anything through the brake pedal. It’s weird a more mild vibration but definitely there.

Just a thought but any chance the vibration and buzzing could be coming from the engine mounts?

    Manufacturer Communication Number:
    SIB-22-01-07

    Summary

BMW VEHICLE: NOISE FROM FRONT AXLE/RIGHT SIDE. A GRINDING OR SCRAPING NOISE MAY BE HEARD WHILE CORNERING AT VEHICLE SPEEDS UP TO 30 MPH. THE NOISE IS MORE PRONOUNCED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN THE WARM UP PHASE AND MAY CHANGE INTENSITY DURING LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS. THE RIGHT SIDE ENGINE SUPPORT IS MAKING CONTACT WITH THE RIGHT SIDE ENGINE MOUNT. *PE

Thanks for your reply. I did think of this but decided not to follow it up due to the issue of it coinciding with the tyre pressure warning light going off. But its a good shout and i will have them checked out.

Hi, mine's doing the same(320cd '04). It happened twice, first I was in cruise control and had my + button pressed, increasing throttle. boom. Exactly how you described it. Today it happened again, 3 minutes after start was approaching little roundabout and it happened again. In both instances, the tyre pressure light came on, haven't had a problem with resetting them. It's strange. I bought the car 2 weeks ago, so I'm discovering these things and they're not very pleasant tbh.

Have you checked the mounts or have you somehow rectified this issue, yet?

    Thanks for any answer.
