As some of you will be aware I have been suffering with a very uncomforatble driver's seat since I purchased my F34 back in Oct 2019. Despite the fact that the sports seats are the same as my previous F30 (which were fine) there is a definate changed in the firmness of the seat side bolsters to a point where they are just to hard and hurt my lower back and thighs after around 40 mins of driving. (I am not a wide guy before anyone suggests I loose weight :p). A quick google also shows that many are suffering the same issue in 2,3,4,& 5 series across the range with the sport seats so I can only think that perhaps BMW changed the foam type sometime in 2014?

However despite people complaining and in some extreme cases have sold there car's, no one has found a solution......until today!

After doing a great deal of research and making many phone calls and being told it could not be done I finally found a seat trimmer who sorted the issue for me in 4hrs at a cost £160.00.

This guy is amazing and has been doing car high end upholstery and trimming for many yrs including porsche's etc, his web adress is below:

    https://sfcar-trim.co.uk/

Pls see the attached pictures and you will see that numbers 6 & 7 are the completed seat that shows no sign of modifications to the bolsters however he removed in excess of 25mm of firm foam from both sides making the seats perfectly comfortable so I can enjoy driving again! Had I not found him then the car was very close to being traded for a 7 series to gain the seat comfort. However this is no longer the case, I would strongly recommend this guy for any upholstery or triming work that anyone may need.

You would seriously struggle to notice any difference between the driver's seat and the passenger seat unitl you sat in it, even the leather shows no signs of any modification and is not baggy anywhere.

    Rgds

    Peter

Well that’s a somewhat cheaper fix than buying a 7 series....!
Great news for you and your posterior.

Yes indeed considering I had been told by others that what I required couldn't be done! Car was perfect on collection no fault code's which is rare when you drop the battery for 4 hrs on a BM

Good news that you found a skilled trimmer to sort your problem, Peter. There is nothing worse than aches and pains from a bad car seat.
Fortunately, the sports seats in my F30 are very comfortable - even the wife has never complained. :)

That ad takes me back quite a few years! I recognise the actor on the right at 0.33 from somewhere else.
