Hi Guys, Well i dont want to bring this subject up again.... but i'm going to bring this subject up again....

Now i have just bought the carly app and apart from a load of prety useful stuff on there, the main reason i bought it , dont laugh, is to close the wing mirrors when i lock the car and walk away, and vice versa. i own a E93 2008 330 with folding wing mirrors from a button on the arm rest. enough info?

so the problem is i cant find for the life of me whereabouts in the app is the "switch" to do this.

So i ask again if there is anyone with a similar mirror setup who has done this, could they tell me how?

    Regars

Check the FRM & Cas modules in coding icon 21DE13E2-40E8-495D-857C-878C09EE8A85.png

Snr, hi, Keeping well i hope.. Now this is the problem, all i can find in either the CAS or the FRM modules is the ability to open/close (you know what i mean) the mirrors by holding the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob, no sign of what i'm after

Isn't that what you wanted? In your first post you said: " is to close the wing mirrors when i lock the car and walk away"

Can you see in Carly what Sean referred to, I. E. Comfort folding for side view mirrors?

The only way to be sure
Open the module take a screen shot & save picture of the default setting, then change the setting.
Disconnect Carly and try the function
Work through the menus until you get the desired function, noting that it’s worth screen shotting each change

On my car, I was able to change and code all my desired functions and screen shorted along the way to allow reversal as it’s not always ‘as’ easy remembering what you just changed

What's the problem with having to hold the Lock button on the key fob?

On my F31, if I hold the Lock button on the fob for a couple of seconds, the mirrors fold. When I click the Unlock button, they unfold again.
    Simple and straightforward.

“If” you don’t open the mirrors whilst unlocking and move off, the mirrors will unfold at circa 15-20mph
    However
There is an instance where the won’t function
If the battery is run down, the ECU will turn off the function, it maybe worth carrying out a battery check as reading between the lines (possibly incorrect) it reads as if your struggling with the function

I’ve never used Carly but have you also coded the rest of the options it says like both comfort closing via remote and opening via remote also the options in cas?

The mirrors won’t fold immediately persay
If you press and hold the lock function circa 3-5 seconds
Immediately the locks will lock, then the windows/sunroof will close and at the same time the mirrors will fold
All in all about 3-5 seconds, in which you have to maintain pressure on the button

When unlocking., the mirrors will immediately unfold

It varies. Our X6M can be coded to fold its mirrors when locked and unfold on unlock. Our F31 cannot be coded to do this. You fold mirrors by holding down the lock button on the remote, and they unfold when you unlock the car. I expect it is to differentiate between levels. Putting all the features of a Seven into a Three probably isn't considered good marketing practice.

I wouldn't want my door mirrors to unfold on unlocking the car. I have metal storage units at the side of the garage. If the mirrors unfolded automatically, they would get damaged. So for me, the system on my F30 is ideal. If I need the mirrors folded, then pressing the key fob for 2 seconds is so simple. It's the most flexible setup. :)

If it works for you, then it works.
