I’m looking at a Kodiaq vRS tomorrow with a view of a car for me for going to and from work and Czech Republic etc... Seen that a diesel Macan S is in budget and slightly less for one a few years old. What sort of fuel economy are you getting in yours? I do 20k a year so would wipe the value out of anything I buy as it would be a long term car. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m getting 35mpg but I’m still in the honeymoon period and driving in sport mode a lot. There is a lovely Macan SD for sale on the Macan forum with a great spec if you are after one.
Also, I’ve just checked and I’ve done 370 miles since filling up and it’s saying I have 130 miles left, thats on a 75 litre tank. Pretty good, but that does include a ride to Goodwood FOS three weeks ago, so one longish journey.
That’s nice. Strange how there are quite a lot for sale with lowish mileage though. People seem to change out of them quite quickly. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Be careful with low mileage diesels, just like any diesel really but there are many stories of Macao’s with foobar’d dpfs at one and two years old with low mileages.
Looked at one today. Unfortunately too small for what I need. Quite nice though. Sure it drives very well indeed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Have to say, it’s not the biggest SUV. Packing mine up this evening as I’m invoking Plan C for a getaway to France tomorrow with the littleun. With just our suitcases, beach & picnic stuff and my Responder kit bag and tac vests, there’s not much room left over. If we were doing a full family holiday for a couple of weeks, we’d need a roof box. Good thing is, as said, it’s plan C. Normally we’d take one of the two vans - but both of them are broke at the moment!
Sorry Ian - a bit OT. Concorde has a blown pressure regulator on the water pump so has been spraying water around a locker. Need a new pressure vessel (only £17) but couldn’t get one in time to get away. But without it I have no water, whatsoever. T6 has an electrical issue. Both leisure batteries were dead so I took out both driver and passenger seats yesterday to swap them out with new ones and now nothing is working at all. Control panel is dead and looks like a wire has come loose from the loom under the driver seat but no idea where it goes. I’m thinking it’s going to be £££££ to get an auto electrical to diagnose and fix! Anyway, Macan was super today. Averaged 29mpg from Cambridge to Dover and a bit less from Calais to Le Touquet given lots of queuing around Calais and 130kmh on the French side. Overall 26mpg, which is completely acceptable IMO. Nice to get her out on a proper continental road trip. First one in nearly 12months of ownership.
Just a little update. I achieved 380 miles to a tank today despite driving in Sport and Sport plus mainly, that’s around 36mpg. I’ve done 1000 miles already in 6 weeks and I’ve been on holiday for over two of those, this is because I just love driving it and it makes me drive the long way round. No faults to report, the errant seat belt warning on the front passenger seat has fixed itself and nothing else has broken. I know it only has 12k on the clock, but it just feels so solid as if it will go on forever. It’s booked in for extended warranty check in October in preparation for losing £2k on two years warranty, but that was budgeted for in the original purchase price. It’s going in for a weeks worth of detailing tomorrow, so I will be in my sons Audi A2 until next Weds, that can’t come soon enough.
Washed the Macan today with snow foam, first time I’ve washed it since it was ceramic coated on 20th August, so easy to clean and good results to be had quickly. Only an hour and a half to do inside and out.
Very nice and shiny. I've never liked big SUV's, but the Mecan looks very stylish. I think that I could happily live with one of them. Don't tempt me!
It’s not big, it’s barely bigger than a golf, especially inside. It feels very nice and compact, which was what we wanted after having seven 5 series. My neighbour has a Cayenne and it’s much bigger than the Macan.
