Hello Peter, I remember you very well from the original . . .

Have you had any rear wheel, bottom of your seat vibration at 70'ish? It seems to be quite common in F10/F11 models. I've got it and need some help to try and get a smooth ride . . .

Only issue I've had, has been with normal balance drift, as tyres wear. Corrected with a new balance. Both summer and winter wheel sets run true and vibration free.

I'm aware users have had persistent issues. Often it is wheels and/or tyres, even after road force balancing, and wheel run-out checks. Some tyres just don't run true. Just recently I recall reading of one user who couldn't sort the vibration and was living with it. Needed new tyres and problem was solved. Same rims, just a tyre change. I do suspect that some extreme examples are issues with prop or driveshaft balance.

Peter, thanks for that - what summer tyres do you run on? I'm thinking of putting 2 new rears on to try and sort out the problem - the current ones aren't too worn so I'll probably pop them on the front, hoping I don't transfer the problem there . . .

I'm running the Continental Sport Contact 3 SSR. Wheels are 18", don't think they are such a big problem as 19", for vibration issues.

Thanks Peter. I've just ordered two Falkens for the rear, and will put the used Goodyears on the front, so I end up with a spare Goodyear in case of damage to the fronts and one winter tyre.

Just wondering if I get another Pirelli winter tyre, could I use those on the back in the winter, or is it not good practise to mix them?

I have Snowsocks for the rears - never have needed them so far, but there's always a first time, no matter how long you wait!!.

You dont need to be too much of a detective to work out that it is a different BMW dealer in Wakefield and Cardiff but there is a well known car supermarket in both places - the one that might point out a motor to you ;)

Good look with the new one @Hearty - the place you bought from (I am guessing!) has a good rep in the locality!
