As one does, whilst perusing the trader, I stumbled on 6 Series Gt, quite blown away and astonished at the depreciation of the latest model, seriously tempting pricing........
    Though I believe the 630i is actually a 2.0l 4 pot turbo engine ?

The prices are tempting, I agree. But they all seem to be on 20" wheels which (to me) means ride comfort may be compromised, though I could be way out saying that! A 2 litre 4 pot turbo engine wouldn't put me off, they worked well when I had a few Saab turbos back in the 90s.

Ah the memories, I loved my Saab
Though does bring back a foolish memory that’s best forgotten

I’ve also looked at the prices of these, you can get a nice 640i for the same price as a decent 3 series, very tempting but massive! 20” wheels aren’t big enough for such a big car, mines on 21’s and they look small sometimes.
Many 6GT’s have air suspension, so the ride shouldn’t be an issue.

Saab memory - Not being able to remove the ignition key after turning the engine off?

I was working across in Belgium in 1979 and had to spend a few days in Brussels (Next door to NATO SHAPE head quarters). I was given a Saab 97 to get there. After parking the car, I turned the ignition off, but could I remove the key from the centre console? NO! :banghead: Whatever I did, the damned key would not come out. No man wants to admit defeat in those circumstances, but after half an hour of struggle and swearing, I gave up. A quick call to the local Saab dealership solved the problem - "Put the gear lever in reverse" and out it came.

I got half way through your post and got an inspiration - that was an annoying trait
Though in all honesty little difference to modern cars
BMW’s - Press the brake pedal prior to starting
Audi’s (Manual) - Press the clutch
I’m sure the like of Dacia have something similar, probably enable hazard warning switch

Just had an e mail from haliwell Jones and they have a brand new pre registered 630i GT with thirty three grand off list, still costs a fair chunk of change but that is a lot of money off list

Most of the 6GT's for sale are BMW UK registered cars with YK or similar plates.

Only seen one with another prefix - maybe means not many are being purchased privately hence the steep initial depreciation

just under thirty eight grand suggesting it was a seventy one grand car at full list price couldn't see the full spec of the car but that price would suggest it has a good few extras

    www.halliwelljones.co.uk/bmw/chester-pre-reg

fourth down on the list, looking at that you can get massive savings on list for the 6GT and the 7 series that they have coming in

£71k list price with options for a four pot BMW is rather ambitious imho :cautious:

I've just had a look through the list, that's certainly grabbed my attention this morning. Makes many of the cars on the AUC site look expensive when compared with the new ones!
