Do not know who makes Avon Tyres, but I do know that Black Circles is owned by Michelin. Perhaps that is the reason for the Michelin promotion.
I know that Avon were owned Dunlop in the past but a quick Google shows they were sold in 1997 to Cooper, an American company (2nd largest US tyre co. after Goodyear)
the company that i work for fir Avon Cooper tyres to our works vesicles and they are rubbish I would not put them anywhere near my car, the van that i drive had two brand new Avon Cooper tyres fitted the other day so they have about 300 miles on them as soon as it was damp the front wheel drive van was spinning on the slightest of incline, i pulled up at a stop sign and as i tried to move away it was like some sort of boy racer doing wheel spins the tyres had very little grip i know the vehicle i drive at work is a front wheel drive van with most of the weight in the back but the continental vanco tryes that were fitted from new never spun out like the Avons sorry but that is one brand that i would not touch
Iirc correctly, Avon are (or were) the only tyres still made in the UK. I used to have their ZZ3 tyres on the E39 and liked them. That tread pattern has been superseded by another.
I've been using Avon ZZ5's on my 520d M Sport for the past 6 years I like them have had Goodyear F1 before (too much tramlining) and much prefer the Avons loads of grip and super predictable…..each to their own I suppose...
