I may be wrong, but a lot of MB parts are carried over from different models. Eg lots of AMGs use the same red Brembo callipers, as well as pads and discs, so some parts maybe in production for longer. The rear discs I just bought were also fitted to some SLs, AMG GTs and S class coupes.

Indeed a hefty bill, but considering you have possibly the coolest car on the forum (and arguably in general) I’d consider that a wise investment.

Picked the car up at lunchtime today.

Great to have it back and nice knowing that no more big service costs for about four years or so.

Also had a nee air con condenser so now have working air conditioning for the first time in a while.

    Cheers

    Excellent stuff, sounds really good.

The M5 touring is definitely a cool car.

Silverstone is one of my favourite M colours too. I was going to get my wife a Silverstone M3 but she ended up getting Mineral grey.

I noticed the ‘Ring sticker on the back. Have you been recently?

No o haven’t been for three years I think. Only taken this car once so would like to go again this year in it.

It wasn’t my first choice of colour (I wanted interlagos blue or black with red leather), but this car came up with AUC warranty at a good price so took a chance on it.

Really nice colour when properly cleaned and in the sun.

    Cheers

I went last year with my eldest and he wanted to take his car at the time, but I hope to take the C63S as soon as we are permitted.

Fingers crossed that it won’t be too much longer.

Today was a bit of fun. Brands Hatch and all circuits owned by Jonathan Palmer seem to be doing a ‘Drive’ event. I went today and for £25 we got to do three laps of the GP circuit behind some safety cars. About 30 cars in a line, not fast but fun all the same. My daughter sat in the front and experienced the dynamic seats for the first time and liked the fact that they gave her a cuddle on the corners. Good hour or so out in the car.

Also looked at my engine oil usage since I have had the car

Then put the car back in the garage and decided to try and reverse in to make life easier for getting in and out for the future.

The above two pictures sun up the excitement in our lives at the moment, but hopefully that should improve in the coming weeks and months.

Even though it was a slow drive around, that sounds like a great experience. All the better for sharing it with.
Oh, and a cracking looking garage situation.

Good stuff. Sounds like a great day out in spite of only being a slowish lap.

Love the garage too. Miss being able to get the car in. The Macan used to fit snuggly - don’t think I’ll ever get the Cayenne in (and manage to get myself out). :(

I actually used it this weekend. I was lucky enough to race in a support race for the Fanatec GT Series that was at Brands Hatch on the GP track so used the car to go to and from Brands Hatch with all of my stuff and did around 110 miles. You really forget how good a car this is and how many people stop and look at it. On a side note I had an ok race qualifying 21st out of 41 cars and ended up finishing 1st in class and 11th overall out of 41. If you’re really bored the race is on YouTube

Sounds like a fantastic Bank Holiday, and topped off with a great result.

Looking back at the photos, these really are great looking cars that have aged very well in my opinion. Future classic for sure.

I second that. Good condition M5 tourings are already pretty rare.

How cool to be driving a V10!!

I do like the styling of the E60, probably Moreso now!

The car had its MOT yesterday and passed with flying colours. We are having an extension done at the house so will not be able to keep it there as the garage is making way for the kitchen. So we are currently living at my Mums house as is the car, but sadly living outside Got to come up with a good solution until I can afford to have a new garage built at the house.

Have done just about 1100 miles in it since the last MOT. I also work for a Mercedes dealer and the techs were all pretty interested and had never seen one before

    Cheers

    Hey Alex,

    Hope you're well!

I've started storing cars indoors at my dealership (Retro Classic Automotive) over winter so if it helps we can discuss?

My transporter can collect it anytime.

Plus it'd look great nex to an E38 750iL, S55L AMG and S63L AMG

Pic of the inside below for ref.

    Cheers

All good thanks. I keep thinking of starting car storage as a side line, but lack the storage area How do you find it as a business? Love e38’s. Keep thinking about one of those to daily drive…

    Cheers
