Nothing Kev, did think of getting online entertainment... but was informed i didn't need it Already have a lifetime FSC code and get free map updates from the dark web
I was considering maybe Map updates & RTTI but i'm sure they used to be 2 year periods but its only 12 months.. plus no discounts on the packages only discounts on individual items so prob give it a miss, unless some better deals appear nearer xmas or Jan sales. Kev
BMW hiked the prices up about 18 months ago, but changed the service period from 2 years to 12 months, hoping no one would notice.
Thanks for the topic. Renewed my Maps for less than £50 for 2-years. Update 2020-1; is available for my car. Peter
That's strange - I only have the option of 12 months map updates for £34.30. How did you manage to get 2 years?
@Peter l also looked for map updates for my car and l am only getting the offer of 12 months for £34.30
hmm seems prices are varying.... I'm bring offered:- RTTI - £34.30 for 12 months Map Updates - £55.30 for 12 months For some reason more pricey that others, seems strange. Kev
the £55.30 price is for map updates via USB and over the air so automatic updates and i do believe the over the air updates do not work so you are paying a premium for a non working feature which sucks
In January 2017, I paid £69.95 for two years map updates. The full cost now is £49 for 12 months (equiv £96 for 2 years). That's the reason that I now only renew the map updates every other year. I would normally do this in mid January, which should ensure getting 3 updates. But the current discount of 30% is worthwhile, so I'll renew by 3rd December deadline. Getting the various online services is all part of BMW ownership, but when they suddenly apply a 37% increase you do get the feeling of being 'Ripped Off'. No wonder people source the updates elsewhere. I'll probably do the same (or just wait for Black Friday to come around).
Mine run out in August this year so i'll probably wait till this time next year or 2021 until i consider getting a update for it as not worth my while at the moment. Kev
that is what l am doing now buy one year and then skip a year so BMW thought they were smart reducing subscriptions to one year to make more money but we are smarter and as a result of this change l am actually saving money
I've definitely got 2-years for £48.96. Just had the invoice/receipt come through, it confirms USB map update until 25/11/21. I believe it might be to do with the navigation system, and how often they update. I'm running CIC in my 2011 build. Peter
I bought the connected package plus for my X5. Benefitted from the map update and hopefully the real time traffic alert. Does the real time traffic supersede the radio traffic automatically? I did notice it turn orange when I did a trip last week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
