Yes we do it at work on occasion when required.

Interesting to see what if anything comes of it.

    Cheers

That's a really good idea. Dwarfs can be a absolute menace at times, particularly so in the Scottish Highlands and similar scary places.
Perhaps they have travelled south to sample the magical hops you cultivate in Kent? I must say I've never found any in my part of the world, but one can never be too careful. :wobble:

Better to have dwarves rather than goblins. They are far worse, ugly little creatures. :whistling: :ROFLMAO:

Dropped car off yesterday for service. I was not booked in as can leave it with them for s couple of weeks. Got there around 3pm on Saturday and they were that quiet they could have done it there and then.

Oil service, brake fluid change and an air filter as well as fitting the two rear tyres that have arrived for £406 which doesn’t seem too bad

    Cheers

Service done with new rear tyres fitted for £468 so thought it was reasonable. New front tyres arrived two days after the rears but by that time the car was already at BMW being worked on so no opportunity to get the fronts to them.

Popped to work on Wednesday this week and fitted the front tyres. The old fronts had just over 4mm tread left but were on the car when I bought it and I have had the car for three years in October so good to change and now four new matching tyres.

Off to Belgium in it this weekend to see some friends so get to stretch its legs a little bit.

    Cheers

    Similar temps here during Saturday.
That must be a fantastic car to tour Europe in, tonnes of space and even more oomph.

Giving me the desire to do another European road trip, haven’t driven over there since a tour out Italy back in 2011. In a red Alfa of course.

It’s great to drive out there to be fair and very comfortable and sits at 85 + with ease. The downside is the fuel tank. Between 200 and 300 miles to a tank from 70 litres limits its abilities as a Tourer.

That said, an enforced break every two to three hours on a long journey is no bad thing and it’s not expensive to fill up unlike my Range Rover which is around £135 a go!

If this had a hundred litre tank it would be perfect. I have spent many an hour looking online for someone who has fitted s bigger tank but no luck.

    Cheers

Well I learnt that this slides forward today. Only had the car for nearly three years...

That reminds me of when I had my Astre GTE. There was a tiny button which illuminated when pressed, but didn't appear to do anything. After a few years I read the manual [yes..I know!] and discovered that it was for the heated door mirrors:banghead:

Every year a school year, eh? :D

There’s a recall released in July for e60/1 to inspect the battery cable and repair if required.

Mine is apparently stage 3 according to the recall which means it is a safety issue and can’t be released back to me until t had been to a body shop and repaired so got to wait until middle of next week at the earliest before it comes back to me

I’m hoping that this will be done as part of the recall. Not sure but will find out for sure.

I've just checked and there is a live recall. Another forum post I saw stated:

The battery cable connection is checked from the underside. (The previous recall was just a cosmetic trunk side cable cover renewal.) Depending on the corrosion damage on the connection it's only cleaned and greased or if the connection is badly corroded the whole cable from that connection to engine bay is renewed. In worst case this corrosion damage has caused fire in the trunk when the connection heats up due to higher resistance and partial short to chassis.

Hopefully they will also sort the corrosion for yours.

Mine is all sorted. However, they have found an oil leak that they believe is coming from the oil cooler so hey are investigating to see exactly where it is coming from and if it is covered under extended warranty. If not, then I will get it repaired at staff rates.

    Cheers

^^. So the solution is to cut a big hole in the car?
