I'm just coming to the end of a free months trial of Amazon Prime, and logged on intending to cancel future subscriptions. But I found that they have an offer of annual membership for only £59 instead of the normal £79. So I've opted for this, as it gives free next day delivery on any orders, and full access to Prime Video.

So this is just a heads up to any other members, but hurry as it ends at MIDNIGHT tonight.

Prime"arily" I got prime for The grand tour, but the benefit of free next day (ish) delivery is great, same day on occasion which is impressive, is worth the £79/ £59.
I say that as I look at my SRP for £9 and sit here waiting for yesterdays primeday orders.

The only thing to watch out for is, you do tend to order prime and sometimes end up paying a tad more than maybe you could just for the the convenience. But as a professional buyer, I have to say Amazon as a supplier of goods it is so impressive, they really have it all sown up, but will regrettably close a lot of shops (aka the competition).

We dont really bother watch Prime TV/ movies, its just not in Netflix league.

ps - always log into amazon via Top Cashback, you can get upto 10% back on most purchases. It adds up.

I have renewed my interest in photography this year with a new Nikon DSLR .
Had saved a decent K&F tripod (£99.99) + camera bag (£42.99) in my wish list
yesterday - just hours before the prime day was due to finish they knocked 20% of the tripod and did a discount voucher on the bag.

I paid £107.99 for both :woohoo:

Sorry it was just one hour's notice. I only found out at 11.00 pm, and it finished at midnight. :)

Especially for accessories such as lens pens, filters, batteries, tripods etc I find amazon very competitive and as my missus pays for prime, often save a bit on delivery too. I've even seen them have some good deals on lenses, but I'm never sure whether they are uk or grey import models.

The reviews suggest they are grey imports.
Another good place for lenses is John Lewis (sale time) and even Jessops online .
    bought a ...
Nikon 35mm F1.8 prime for £130 at John Lewis
Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 OS HSM £310 at jessops

    both are genuine UK imports
