Mines got active cruise control, and think it will take some getting used to as well. Seem to spend to much time looking at the display and the lines. Hopefully you will be happy with the touch screen as you get used to it and know where stuff is on it, I had a 420d last week for 24hours and found the idrive a pain after 5 years away from a BMW, prob just coz I had forgot how to use it.
I purposely never test drove a 3ltr petrol as I knew I would love it, but the SD with sports exhaust is a cracker, coming from the 535d GT which was so quiet I find the Macan to have a very sporty sound. The lag you speak of is totally gone in sport and sport plus mode, in those modes it definitely feels faster than the 535d, I'm sure its faster than the figures suggest.
Looks awesome Ian, congratulations and well done on finding one with that spec. Shame it's a soot burner though . Im sure its an amazing drive and the build quality will be second to none.
Two potential faults reared their heads today, firstly the passenger seatbelt warning keeps telling me the passenger has not fastened their belt, only there was no passenger and it continued to bong until I turned the ignition off. Then the oil warning bonged up saying to add a litre, duly bought the said litre of mobile 1 but the electronic dipstick refuses to work, just saying ‘not possible at this time’. I tried it with the ignition off, on, whilst engine running and whilst moving, same result. I hope these little niggles don’t turn into annoyances. In other news, I just want to drive the thing and finding every excuse to. I’m going back and forth to hospital to see my Dad at the moment, so little excuse required.
