So this morning while cruising at about 80mph in the m25 I had yr unpleasant experience of running over the remains of a lorry tire, I notice 3 or 4 cars swerving and braking inf don’t of me, anyway I soon discovered that the remains of the tire were in the middle of the lane and all the cars were running over them myself included, I passed under the car luckily briefly beaching the fronts but without causing any visiable damage. I’ve checked under my car this evening and there’s no damage just a couple of rubber marks on the lower part of the bumper which have come out and under neath the engine cover..... only issue is it’s popped my towing hook cover out and a replacement from Vines in Guildford is £18 then £40 to paint ♂️! Anyone have any ideas where I could get one cheaper. Anyway not something I want to encounter again!!
Not good . But I have to ask why you were nt on the outside lane , you know the one I mean , the BMW Lane
Haha don’t worry I was in the BMW lane or as I call it the German lane the tyre was right in the middle of it
Some years ago, I used to commute approx. 100 miles per day on the M6 motorway, and regularly used to see large chunks of HGV tyre tread on the carriageway. I shared the driving with a friend and colleague. One morning in his Golf GTi, we were in the righthand land passing a line of traffic in the middle lane with an HGV tanker at the front. As we passed the tanker, it had a front tyre blowout which caused it to swerve into the righthand lane and almost hit the crash barrier. We had literally only just passed it. So someone up there was looking down on us that day. The other possible outcome just did not bare thinking about.
I've hit a chain in the road before nice bit of damage done ... and hit a badger could feel my car lift up
Some years ago we were travelling up the M1 from London towards Coventry (someone has to go there ) and found everyone quickly switching to the outside lane for what appeared to be no apparent reason. When we got to the same point we saw a roof rack (remember those days?) complete with 2 large suitcases strapped to it in the middle of the road. About a mile further on there was a car parked on the hard shoulder with the occupants standing behind it pointing down the road.

Hi, that’s great thanks! However happened to stumble upon my one at the staff car park at Heathrow by the speed bump. It managed to cling after the lorry tyre impact.
It’s nice when things like that work out I had to take the dog for a walk the other day whilst I looked for the locking wheel nut key. I was sure it would be within the first hundred yards...... which it was.
