...check your tyres' pressure? I admit to not having done it once since I have my F11. Can you rely on the board computer to warn you in case of pressure loss?
I tend to check once a month, and most definately when seasonal wheel changes occur. This happens on all 3 vehicles The TPMS is pretty accurate according to the analogue gauge. The merc and golf don't have such technology so an inflator is used and again checked with the gauge. https://www.amazon.co.uk/RACE-RX001...22891706&sr=8-10&keywords=tyre+pressure+gauge
I check tyre pressures at least every two weeks, or more of often if there has been a sudden change in ambient temperature. Only takes a few minutes so not much of a chore really.
My tyres are holding pressures well, so about once a month, or more frequently is there are large ambient temperature fluctuations. This winter temperatures have been pretty consistent, the first big rise is likely later this week. Snow on the ground again today, second time this week. Peter
At least once a month, and always before a long journey. The outside ambient temperature will also affect your tyre pressures. Keeping the correct pressures also ensures minimum tyre wear and maximum mileage.
I check my tyre pressures about once a month. It's surprising how a partially deflated tyre won't look that much different than one which is inflated to the correct pressure. Under-inflated tyres will also have a negative impact on fuel economy. So it makes sense to check often. Haynes recommends weekly - but if you're having to put air in weekly you've probably got something wrong with the tyre anyway! My TPMS system is fairly rudimentary as it seems the pressure needs to be quite low for it to activate.
I usually check the pressures about once a month. I find the tyre temp display on TPMS useful with the colder weather, usually about 4-5 degrees lower than the ambient temperature and has a significant impact on (2wd) traction. MPSS tyres are known for their less than ideal low temperature performance (unlike the newer Michelin PS4S) As standard the Mini only showed the tyre pressures but it was easy to code and now displays both pressures and tyre temps.
Is this any good, yous think? https://www.amazon.co.uk/TireTek-Au...8-11-spons&keywords=tyre+pressure+gauge&psc=1 Seems good value, since I don't have one of those thread thingies either.
I check mine twice a year when i change from winter to summer tyres, The TPMS is awesome, and I look at the TPMS screen about once a week just as i set off on a journey as the tyres come up to temperature if i dont have the required pressures then i call in to a garage and adjust the pressure and most of the time the tyres do not need any adjustment at all, and as I said I normally check and adjust when i fit the winters/summer tyres with the TPMS display you will see the pressures change as the tyres warm up so i would say they are pretty accurate
